Sentry Oaks is a neighborhood in New Hanover County that is located in the Monkey Junction area.  It is close to stores and dining, as well as local attractions, but is also located in a peaceful part of town. Sentry Oaks is located around 15 minutes from New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. You’re also only 15 minutes away from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington area.

In the nearby Monkey Junction, there are a variety of stores and dining options, or you can drive around 20 minutes north to explore Mayfair and enjoy a movie at the cinema.

Bellamy Elementary School, Murray Middle School, and Ashley High School are the schools where the children go. Murray and Ashley are two of the more recent additions to the Wilmington educational landscape.

As the focal center of this big neighborhood, a large pond with a grassy common area serves as the neighborhood’s gathering place. The entry is marked by two brick columns with signs inlaid in them, which are encircled by a short hedge of plants. Houses in this neighborhood are built in a conventional style, with horizontal siding and brick veneer on the exteriors.

In addition to being immediately on the main road, the community pond shares a border with Ambleside Drive. Despite the fact that there are few patches of mature trees surrounding the houses, the majority of the yards are more open in nature.

Sentry Oaks is also conveniently located across the street from Intracoastal Watch and a short distance down the road from Avalon West and Windy Hills neighborhoods.
